Pay premium by skill
How much extra pay each skill, knowledge area and work activity is linked to, priced two labeled ways, plus how much experience each skill usually takes and how well it carries between industries.
Built from Project Ascent wage decomposition: 35 skills, 33 knowledge areas and 41 work activities across 393 metro areas (BLS wage data, May 2025; O*NET 30.2), each priced two ways and labeled. The strict price holds the rest of its layer fixed: 27 of the 109 survive standard errors clustered at the occupation level. The same-Job-Zone price compares jobs in the same O*NET Job Zone (the same preparation band) and metro: 78 clear zero in every check. The rest are shown without a number rather than dropped
Every skill carries an altitude, an experience slope and a portability score. Built from public federal data with zero licensed inputs, so it travels to any community without a vendor contract.
