Plan your workforce

Talent Blueprint

Plan your talent the way you plan your supply chain. Built on the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Talent Pipeline Management principles: name your key roles and leave with a plan you keep.

Built from The US Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Talent Pipeline Management curriculum, applied to this county's own labor data

TPM is a several-hundred-page employer-led methodology. This walks its core sequence against your roles and leaves you a plan you keep. Built on TPM principles; not endorsed or certified by the Chamber Foundation.

Start with your roles

The three to five roles that keep you up at night. One per line, or comma-separated.

Ten questions about how you hire today

Nothing is pre-selected on purpose: a Blueprint built from answers you never gave would read as yours and would not be.

1. Demand planning

How far ahead do you plan hiring for your critical roles? 1 = a rolling 12 to 24 month forecast by role, 4 = we hire only once a seat opens.

How well do you know projected openings, hiring competition, and pay for your key roles in this market? 1 = we track all three, 4 = we go on gut feel.

2. Competency and credential requirements

How clearly are the specific skills and credentials for each critical role defined? 1 = documented and current, 4 = not defined.

How often do candidates lack the specific credential rather than the general education level? 1 = rarely, 4 = almost always, and our postings screen on a degree as a proxy.

3. Talent flows

How well do you know the feeder occupations and sources your workers actually come from? 1 = we map them, 4 = we do not know.

How well do you know where you lose people to, and why? 1 = we track exits and destinations, 4 = we do not know.

4. Talent supply chains

How active are your relationships with the schools and programs that produce your talent? 1 = managed partnerships with named contacts, 4 = we post jobs and hope.

How connected are you to underused local talent pools (residents with disabilities, residents returning from incarceration, residents in recovery)? 1 = active pipeline, 4 = no connection.

5. Continuous improvement

How well do you measure pipeline performance, such as time to fill and where hires come from? 1 = we measure and act on it, 4 = we do not measure it.

How regularly do you revisit and adjust your talent plan? 1 = at least quarterly, 4 = never.

Talent Pipeline Management is a methodology of the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Talent Blueprint is an independent application of its published principles, guided by IHC's certified TPM practitioners.
